Button refashion

One of the easiest and cheapest ways to update a look is changing something small on the garment.  In this instance I bought some buttons at Britex.

Here is a boring blue shirt dress I wear to work when all of my black clothes are dirty.  First I started by removing the buttons with scissors.  I would recommend a seam ripper but that was ALL the way upstairs and I'm lazy so I went with the scissors.
You'll need some fun new buttons the same size as your old buttons, a needle, thread, and scissors.
After removing the buttons there should be good demarcation of where the button used to live with two or four holes from where the thread used to be securing the button to the garment.  Use that as your guide for placement.  Hand sew on the buttons.  My buttons were quite heavy so I used at least 14 stitches to sew and secure plus knots.

Here they are all on.  Don't they look cute?
Instant upgrade!
And you don't even need a sewing machine.
